Comment: J. B. Barnhill was the editor of the anarchist newsletter Humanity First (1919-1921). In 1918 he lived at Xenia, Illinois. Evelyn Dunn, later known as Evelyn Scott (1893-1963) was a writer, poet and journalist during the 1920s and 1930s. She lived in Bloomsbury with Frederick Creighton Wellman, later known as Ciryl Kay-Scott. In 1919 the couple returned to New York and lived in Greenwich Village for two years. During this period Evelyn wrote reviews of works by James Joyce and D. H. Lawrence for The Dial. Source: David Arthur Callard. Pretty Good for a Woman: The Enigmas of Evelyn Scott.
